OPERATOR DISPLAY

CRT MONITOR (FOR PST1010)

The CRT monitor used in PST1010 or as option to PST1000 (together with

COM3 and COM4 whilst the monitor has to stand aside as the display platform is

occupied by the OD300 in PST1000) can be considered as ordinary PC VGA monitor

in application concern. However, the power to the 9” VGA monochrome monitor is

supplied through the VGA connector and is UPS supported. Yet, when the monitor

used is the 10” color monitor, the AC power is used and is not supported by the UPS

function.

LCD DISPLAY (OD-300 FOR PST1000)

The operator display OD-300 is a slim-lined LCD display for 2 rows by 20

alphanumeric characters. This device when in use is connected to the COM1

connector which is pass through connected from the customer display port. So, this

operator display can receive command / data from the host computer only when the

customer display port is in pass through mode or is plugged with the “VFD

terminator”. Please refer to the appendix of this manual for the fonts used in OD300

and OD300JPN when the OD300 receives data to display. The commands applicable

to OD300 are tabulated in the following pages. However, following command should

be issued to the system first to set the communication protocol for this display to 9600

bps, none parity, 8 data bits and 1 stop bit:

MODE COM1 96,n,8,1 (enter)

It is very important for the software programmer to take special care in

displaying the messages to the OD300, because there is no other display like a monitor

to indicate the system response in a standard PST1000.
